NDMC's 45-day solid waste segregation campaign starts

The New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC) on Friday kicked off a sustained campaign of 45 days with the aim to segregate 100 per cent Municipal solid waste at source across the households of New Delhi.

Outlining the details of the action plan, NDMC Chairperson, Naresh Kumar informed that under the campaign over 50,000 households would be covered by 100 volunteers of three NGO's besides the RWAs, market associations, students of school and colleges, NDMC workforce of safai sevaks and employees of civil and horticulture department as well. These volunteers would do door-to-door campaigns with an aim to create awareness about the segregation of garbage in the components such as bio-wet and bio-dry.
