NDMC felicitates five safai sevaks

New Delhi: The five safai sevaks namely Vinod of circle-8, Harbeer and Suman of circle-13, Ravi of circle-3 and Geeta from circle-4 of New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC) had been adjudged best in the debate competition organised by the Council in collaboration with Finance Ministry on Friday.

The winners were felicitated with the kits containing cloth bag, mask, glove, t-shirt, cap and umbrella.

The theme of the debate was "Ban on Single Use Plastic" and as many as 150 safai sevaks participated in the debate. The consolation prizes were also given away to the participants.

The debate has been organised with the aim to judge the understanding and communicating skill of the safai sevaks on the topic of "Ban on Single use Plastic" as they are representing the NDMC at the ground level, while interacting with the public during performing their duties.

Earlier, the delegation of Public Health Department consisting of safai sevaks had been deputed for one week training in Beijing, the Capital City of China. Delegation was deputed in order to get acquainted with the latest technology and know-how in public space of sanitation and disposal of garbage.
