NCPCR seeks report from police on sexual harassment of girl

New Delhi: The National Commission For Protection of Child Rights (NCPCR) seeks a report from Delhi Police regarding sexual harassment of girl inside the school in Outer Delhi area. The complaint which came through POCSO e-Box said that she felt the bad touch and different type of bad comments from the male teacher.

Sources said that the child rights body in the letter said that the Commission has taken cognizance of the above case under section 13 (1) (j) of the CPCR Act 2005. The complaint is received through POCSO E-Box Button.

"You are requested to inquire into the matter and take lawful action in the case. An action taken report of the case along with the relevant documents must be furnished to the Commission within five days from the date of receipt of this letter," sources said quoting letter.

"We received the complaint on May 6 with the subject regarding sexual harassment of a 12th class minor student by a school teacher," NCPCR official said. A letter was sent by Yashwant Jain, member NCPCR to police for the enquiry.

Sources further added that as per the statement of the girl and her parents, she felt bad touch and different kind of comments by a male teacher (PGT English).

Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) e-box of the National Commission for Protection of Child Rights (NCPCR) has been approached by citizens more than 3,400 times since its inception. The NCPCR data accessed by Millennium Post claimed that till January 25, as many as 3,469 hits were reported in the e-box.
