Nature, classical music to inspire artwork for lifts in Metro's Pink Line

NEW DELHI: Lift shafts at 11 stations of the Delhi Metro's upcoming Pink Line, from Majlis Park-Shiv Vihar, will have designs based on nature and classical music.
The 11 stations are Netaji Subhash Place, Shalimar Bagh, Naraina, Bhikaji Cama Place, Sarojini Nagar, South Extension, INA, Lajpat Nagar, Vinobha Puri, Nizamuddin and Ashram.
"Digital glass prints are being installed on the entire shafts of the lifts... The artworks will cover these exposed portions and beautify the station area," a statement by Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) said.
All these lifts run from ground floor to concourse and concourse to platform
levels of these underground stations.
"Themes inspired by nature and Indian classical dance forms have been chosen for the project.
"The designs have been prepared in house meticulously by DMRC's own team of architects," it added.
The statement further said that Delhi Metro always endeavours to design its stations in an aesthetic manner.
Artworks have been installed at many of Delhi Metro's stations.
During Phase-II, the lift shaft at Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium Metro station was also decorated with artworks.
Meanwhile, artworks have also been installed to
beautify the upcoming Botanical Garden-Kalkaji Mandir section.
