This is not for the first time that cops have been targeted by rash commuters in the Millennium City. Two drunken youth had, in June last year, tried to run over the station head officer of Sector-29 police station Vikas Kaushik, when they were asked to stop for checking.
In the following months, a group of youngsters at MG Road was dispersed away by armed policemen, led by Kaushik, after they tried to harm the policemen physically.
Many drunken and rash drivers, who have been penalised for their unlawful activities, have also got into scuffles with law enforcement personnel and tried to harm them physically.
There have also been situations where gunshots have been exchanged between police and criminals on Gurugram's streets.
