Murder in Khyala: Three of four accused sent to judicial custody

NEW DELHI: Three persons accused for murdering a 23-year-old man in Khyala were produced in court on Saturday and sent to judicial custody, while the fourth juvenile accused was sent to a correctional home
Police on Friday had apprehended the parents, uncle and 14-year-old brother of the girlfriend of the victim, who was a freelance photographer.
The victim, who lived in the same neighbourhood as that of the accused family, was killed after his girlfriend's father slit his throat, while her uncle mother and brother pinned him to the ground.
The girl's family was against her relationship with the victim and had reportedly warned her to stay away from him several times.
It was when the girl had gone to meet him on Thursday and locked her family inside the house that they thought the couple was about to run away.
Soon, they went in search of the youth, and after they found him near his residence, they beat him up and killed him, as well as beat up his parents.
Meanwhile, DCP (West Delhi) Vijay Kumar, who is personally monitoring the situiation, said on Saturday, "We have arrested all accused involved. We are ensuring expeditious and speedy investigation under the supervison of senior police officers,"
Since the arrests, police personnel have kept a tight vigil in Khyala and senior police officers are monitoring the law and order situation.
