Murder attempt foiled after 3 criminals held with weapons

NEW DELHI: Delhi police special Cell has arrested three criminals identified as Varun Chowdhary, Jeet Ram and Sohan Lal and seized a total of six pistols and 57 live cartridges from the trio.

All three accused, residents of Rajasthan, are involved in more than 15 criminal cases of murder, attempt to murder, Arms Act etc.

During the interrogation, accused Varun Chaudhary disclosed that his father was murdered in a property dispute. After the murder of his father, he shifted to Ajmer in the house of his uncle Dharmender Chaudhary. In Ajmer, he fell in the company of bad elements of the area and he was arrested several times in different criminal cases.

His uncle Dharmender Chaudhary was a notorious gangster of Ajmer, Rajasthan. Dharmender Chaudhary was an active associate of Anandpal, who was then the most wanted gangster of Rajasthan.

It is also revealed that Dharmender Chaudhary was having fierce rivalry with one Vikram Sharma, another notorious gangster of Ajmer, Rajasthan. Dharmender Chaudhary was shot dead in broad day-light by Vikram Sharma and his goons in the year 2016.

In retaliation, Varun Chaudhary along with Jeet Ram murdered Ramkesh Meena, an associate of Vikram Sharma.

"After release on bail in this case, Varun Chaudhary had planned again to avenge the killing of his uncle Dharmender Chaudhary. Varun Chaudhary came to Delhi to procure sophisticated firearms to execute his nefarious plan of eliminating his rivals," said PS Kushwah, DCP Special Cell.
