MTNL staff protest wearing black badges

The MTNL employees in Delhi on Tuesday protested against the alleged discrepensies in the implementation of sixth pay commision and the detoriating state of MTNL by working wearing black bands.
The employees were seen wearing a black paper on their sleeves that read various demands they had from the government.
They said that for the past 10 years, they have been neglected and have been meeting various officials and ministers in this regard but nothing substantial has come out.
"All allowances we are getting are not revised for years. We are forced to wear black badges and if our demands are not met we will aggravate our strike from August 3. Our staff from Mumbai is also participating in the protest," said Mahender Rai, an MTNL employee in New Delhi.
The employees also demanded revision of allowances given to them. They were also saddened about the fast deteriorating situation of the MTNL and one of the demands stated the revival of the MTNL. The MTNL Mazdoor Sangh threatened to go on a wider platform if their demands are not met.
