Motorcycle theft turns fatal for 24-yr-old in Adarsh Nagar

New Delhi: Attempting to steal a motorcycle turned fatal for a 24-year-old thief, as he died in a road accident in Adarsh Nagar area of north west Delhi in the wee hours of Sunday.
Sources in Delhi Police said the deceased was identified as Bharat, while his two associates Sunny and Bindu sustained injuries in the road mishap at Azadpur flyover.
All three are reported to be residents of north east Delhi.
Police claimed that the incident came to light at 2.40 am, when a PCR call was made by a businessman stating that his motorcycle was stolen by three men.
"The accused stole the motorcycle and were driving the vehicle at a high speed to dodge police. But the rider Sunny was not able to balance the bike and, an hour later, rammed into a road divider," police claimed.
While Sunny, managed to escape the spot, Bharat – who was sitting between Sunny and Bindu – died at the spot, as his body got stuck between the grills of the divider at Azadpur flyover.
Bindu, the pillion rider, suffered fractures after hitting the divider.
Bharat and Bindu were taken to Bara Hindu Rao hospital, where Bharat was declared brought dead and Bindu is said to be critical.
A senior police official said that they have registered a case at the Adarsh Nagar police station and sent out teams to nab the accused who fled.
Sources further said that they are scanning footage of CCTV cameras located in the area from where the bike was stolen to ascertain the sequence of events.
