NEW DELHI: Minister of State for Housing and Urban Affairs Hardeep Singh Puri on Sunday contributed to 'shramdaan' for the 'Swachhta Hi Sewa' programme in areas under the New Delhi Municipal Council.
He said: "Under the Swachh Bharat Mission, lots of toilets had been constructed in the metropolitan cities and far flung areas of the country."
"But most importantly, it was the need of the hour to change the mindset and behaviour of the public towards use of toilets in one's daily life," the minister added.
The Minister said that sanitation workers have been doing their best, but each and every member of the society should come forward to extend active participation and contribution for the national cause of 'Swachh Bharat, Swasth Bharat'.
Puri also administered the Swachhta Pledge to the audience and urged them to practice it in true.
NDMC Chairman Naresh Kumar said that 'Swacchta Hi Sewa' campaign should be viewed as a mass movement.
