More patrolling to check night burglars 'on prowl'

New Delhi: As winters approach, the police claim that snatching incident decreases but chances of night burglaries increase, so Delhi Police have increased the staff for patrolling during night hours.
In South East Delhi, now 20 percent more staff will be on night patrolling in every police station. The patrolling team will be on the motorbikes which are more than 100 so that they cover more areas and also to curb the menace of night burglaries.
Deputy Commissioner of Police (south-east) Romil Baaniya told Millennium Post that from 11:30 pm to 5:30 am they would be patrolling the street in a bid to avoid any crime. Dragon light was also provided to the staff for better patrolling."Burglary cases reported in 2016 was 1,056 and in 2017 is 907 up to November 5. It is decreased by 14.10 per cent in respect of the previous year," said the DCP.
The Sangam Vihar police team have also worked hard in order to curb the menace of illegal liquors in the area. The data which is with the Millennium Post stated that till date during current year total 52 cases of illicit liquor paddling and selling have been registered at PS Sangam Vihar and total 5877 liters illicit liquor seized in these cases so far.
Whereas in 2016, total 26 cases were registered and 2452 liters of illicit liquor was seized. "Total 3,452 liters more illicit liquor has been recovered during the current year in comparison to last year at Sangam Vihar police station," claimed the data. Recently Sangam Vihar police station SHO Upendra Singh with his team arrested a person who used to deliver illicit liquor to the home or shops.
