Minor girl dies after falling into mixing plant

Noida: A 12-year-old girl died in Chijarsi village in Sector 63 after she accidentally fell into a concrete stone hot mixing plant on Friday morning.
According to police, the victim has been identified as Gunjan who had gone to collect cow dung (gobar) for the Govardhan festival puja where she accidently slipped and fell into the mixing plant, said police.
Police said that the plant was operating illegally in the area and the contractor of the plant is absconding since the incident.
"The body was found with over 80 per cent burnt lying near the plant. The workers soon left the spot after the incident and the contractor is absconding. The plant has been sealed and the body has been sent for the post mortem. We are making efforts to nab the manager of the plant" said a senior police official.
City Magistrate Mahindra Singh along with police force and officials of Noida authority reached the spot and sealed the plant. The magistrate directed the officials to undertake proceedings against the manager of plant. Meanwhile the relatives and local villagers staged agitation against the mishap and blocked the road. They later dispersed after police intervened.
It is also to be noted that the National Green Tribunal (NGT) has banned the use of hot mix plants in Delhi-NCR, couple of years back, in the wake of environmental protection.
