Minor girl bunks school, boards friend's car; later alleges gang-rape

A minor studying in Class XI has claimed that she was gang-raped by two men in a rented accommodation in Gurugram.

She had claimed that she was given drinks laced with sedatives, after which she was raped by the accused, who were known to her.

The accused had dropped the girl to her house after her parents confronted one of the accused's family. The two have been arrested and identified as Manjeet and Vikas.

According to a senior police official, the girl had left for her school on Wednesday from her house in South-west Delhi's Bindapur area. She had told her parents that she was on her way to school but she reached Uttam Nagar Metro station and got in a Hyundai Verna car owned by her neighbour, Vikas.

This was noticed by one of her neighbours, who was friends with the girl's brother, who immediately called up her father and informed about the incident. Her father contacted the school authorities and after it was found that she had indeed bunked school and left with Vikas, he confronted Vikas's family in Bindapur.

The relatives of Vikas later made frantic calls on his cell phone and asked him to come back with the girl. When the two accused dropped the girl back to her house, violent confrontation ensued, as the family members of the two accused beat the two men in public.

The girl later alleged when she saw her father that she was gang-raped by the two. She alleged that she had been given cold drinks laced with sedatives and was raped.

"She was taken to a rented accommodation in Gurugram and they had a physical relationship. Later, she was dropped off to her family. We are looking into her statements and based on her statements, an FIR was registered in Bindapur police station," said a senior police official.

The girl was taken to the local hospital where she is currently being treated. The police have arrested both the accused, who are said to be property dealers in the locality. "We are currently questioning both of them to ascertain the exact sequence of events. Further investigation is underway," the official added.
