In a further development in the Mianwali Nagar triple murder case, the South Western range of Special Cell has arrested the three remaining shooters who were a part of the nine man hit squad sent to eliminate gangster Monu Dariyapur, his PSO, and an associate.
The police have identified the accused as Sonu alias Kejriwal (25), Sumit alias Palotra (22), Sandeep alias Padu (25) and were arrested from Rohini on Friday.
The police officials were informed that the accused persons would arrive in a Black Honda Amaze Car at Mahavir Marg in Rohini to meet their associate on Friday.
A trap was laid by the police team around the rendezvous spot. Around 9 pm, the car arrived and stopped near Bahadur Shah Marg and all three were apprehended by the Special Cell team.
Further, three sophisticated pistols along with 15 live cartridges have been recovered from their possession. A reward of Rs 1 lakh was declared by Delhi Police and Rs 25,000 by Haryana Police for the arrest of each of the accused.
According to police, the accused have confessed to their involvement in the shooting and were also found to be involved in several other heinous offences including cases of murder, attempt to murder and armed robberies registered in Delhi and Haryana.
"All the accused were roped in by Rajesh who was arrested earlier by Special Cell. Rajesh had been roped in by Sonu to kill Monu Dariyapur. The accused had other plans, as well as they decided to join the gang to eliminate their rival Ramesh Lohar who was associated with Monu Dariyapur gang," said a senior police official privy to the investigation.
The police have claimed that it was precisely because of this arrangement of rivals that the nine men shooting squad were formed to eliminate Monu. Earlier, Ramesh Lohar was also shot at some members of the gang but he managed to escape the attack.
