Mentally unstable woman raises anti-national slogan, detained

New Delhi: A woman was picked up by Delhi Police from India Gate after started shouting anti-India slogans. The investigating agency claimed that she seems to be mentally unstable. The incident took place at that time when the area is highly secured for upcoming Republic Day.

Deputy Commissioner of Police (New Delhi) Madhur Verma claimed that the woman belongs to Nizamabad in Telangana.

"She raised anti-national slogan. It seems that woman is mentally unstable," DCP Verma added.

Police claimed that the incident came to limelight in the morning after they were alerted about the woman creating a ruckus in India Gate.

She was spotted by the security guards throwing a slipper at the soldiers' memorial.

An alleged video of the incident was also recorded in which the security officers posted at the memorial site were seen stood guard as the woman entered the high-security zone and pushes a flower pot.

Sources claimed that during questioning, she was giving incoherent answers regarding her whereabouts and after the detailed probe, the officers were able to find out that the woman belongs to Nizamabad and the local police informed by the law enforcement agency.

"The investigation revealed that she was last seen in Nizamabad and then her parents were contacted," sources added. The woman was also taken for medical examination.

In August 2018, a mentally unstable man was detained by the Delhi Police after he tried to forcibly enter the Kerala House here at Jantar Mantar.
