Mehrauli murder: Victim's body was chopped into pieces

NEW DELHI: After searching for him for almost a week, Mahesh Chand Joshi on Saturday found his brother Vipin's body inside a refrigerator at the house of one of Vipin's friends in Mehrauli.
Talking to Millennium Post, Mahesh said that he had started searching for Vipin last Monday, after he had gone missing.
"My search ended at his friend's house and the scene was horrific. I found a blood spot and several ants. I suspected something was amiss and called the police," said Mahesh.
Cops reached the spot and entered a room where a refrigerator, with its door ajar, was found to contain Vipin's body.
Mahesh further said that last Monday, the two had talked on phone and inquired about each other's health.
"In the morning, he asked me about my health and asked if everything was going well in my life," says a heartbroken Mahesh.
Police suspect that this friend of Vipin, who has been missing since Vipin's disappearance, could be involved.
"My brother and he was very good friends. I don't know what went wrong," Mahesh told this paper.
The victim was a resident of Uttarakhand and had come to Delhi six months ago.
Recently, Vipin's wife and child had returned to her native place with her child for some business.
Harish, one of Vipin's relative, said they reached Delhi after they came to know about the incident.
"We live in Kapkot area of Bageshwar district, where there are network problems. So Mahesh made a phone call to another person, who told us about the incident and we reached Delhi," Harish told Millennium Post.
After reaching Delhi, the family members reached the hotel where Vipin had been working.
"His phone was switched off and we thought he might be using an ATM which will help us to locate him through his last transaction," said another relative.
He added that when Vipin's body was discovered, it was in a terrible condition.
"Why did the murder kill him like that? He was chopped off with a knife which was lying in the house, and the house was full of blood everywhere. We want justice," said the relative.
Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police (South) Chinmoy Biswal stated that they are conducting raids to nab the accused.
"After his arrest, the motive behind the murder will be clear," said Biswal.
Police sources claimed that they are probing several angles behind the incident, as it could even be a crime of passion.
