MCG notice to Paras Hospital over details of land use

Gurugram: The Municipal Corporation of Gurugram (MCG) has issued a notice to the management of Paras Hospital here, asking it to provide within three days details of its occupation certificate, floor area ratio and how is it being utilised.
Private hospitals in Gurugram seem to be making headlines for all the wrong reasons.
In addition of being alleged of medical negligence, many hospitals have been at the wrong side of the law, with Paras Hospital being the latest addition.
Recently, the Department of Town and Country Planning had sealed a part of hospital's basement, after officials found that rather than using the area for parking, it was being used to run commercial units, like offices and shops.
In a similar case, Haryana Urban Development Authority (HUDA) is trying to recover over Rs 51 crore from another prominent private hospital.
The huge amount, which has been accrued over four years, is part enhancement revenue that the hospital needs to pay to HUDA.
The hospital, located in Sector-51, is a beneficiary of getting a huge area of land at a prime area of the city more than ten years ago.
