'Mayor post is not in purview of North MCD's Vigilance Department'

New Delhi: The Vigilance Department of the North MCD has no capacity to investigate and report issues related to the Mayor, informed a statement by the Mayor's office regarding some reports by the Vigilance Department.

"The post of Mayor is out of the purview of Vigilance Department of North DMC," noted the statement. It added that the department only investigates cases pertaining to procedure and role of employees in following the procedure, rules and regulations.

Recently, a report by the department observed various charges against the Mayor. It also included some cases regarding officials of the Mayor's office along with the some of the agencies who got contracts for few projects.
