Maximize the use of technology: LG to Delhi Police

New Delhi: Lieutenant Governor Anil Baijal chaired meeting on General Crime Review and lessons learnt from Lok Sabha Elections – 2019. The LG told police that best practices learnt from Lok Sabha Elections- 2019 to be put down as an standard operating procedure for further analysis and improvement. According to Raj Niwas press statement LG directed Delhi Police to maximize the use of technology and focus on the separation of investigation from law and order. He also instructed to explore the possibilities of increasing enrolment of senior citizens so that they can be kept a check upon for their safety. LG also advised that activities of jail releases be not only monitored but also shared with jail authorities.

"A presentation with regard to lessons learnt and suggestions for further improvement in the conduct of elections was also made which covered, in detail, the preparatory phase, nomination and campaigning plan, election day/counting day until victory processions," added the press statement. It was informed that advance assessment and planning contributed to smooth conduct of the entire election process of Lok Sabha – 2019.

Interstate coordination with neighbouring states resulted in effective control of anti-social activities and recovery of huge quantity of illegal arms/liquor/drugs.
