Married woman's body found stuffed in suitcase in Ghaziabad

Ghaziabad The body of a 24-year-old married woman, who was allegedly missing from her house in Bisrakh area of Greater Noida from Sunday night, was found stuffed in a suitcase in Indirapuram area of Ghaziabad on Tuesday night.
The victim's family members have accused her husband and his family of murdering her over not fulfilling their dowry demands. They have even lodged a complaint with the police of her missing from home at Bisrakh police station.
According to police, the woman was identified as Mala who was a teacher. She had a love marriage with one Shivam of Greater Noida in November 2017 and lived in a rented house in Bisrakh area of Greater Noida.
"Police received information that a woman's body has been lying stuffed in a suitcase in a drain in kanwani area of Indirapuram. Cops reached the spot and found that she has been strangulated and stuffed in the suitcase, with her hands and legs tied. The body was taken into custody and police stations of nearby districts were informed in order to trace her identity," said Dharmendra Chauhan, Deputy Superintendent of police, Ghaziabad.
As the information spread, victim's family members reached Indirapuram police station and she was indentified with the help of her anklet.
Police further said that the body of the deceased woman has been sent for the post mortem and an FIR has been registered against five persons including victim's husband.
"We have registered a case under section 304B (dowry death) of the Indian Penal Code against the husband, his two brothers and his parents. All the five are absconding and we have formed teams to nab them," said Akhilesh Tripathi, Station House Officer of Bisrakh Police station.
Meanwhile the family members of the deceased have alleged that it's not only their daughter who has been killed but her four months old child has also been killed as she was five months pregnant when she was murdered. However, the police are waiting for the post mortem reports to ascertain if she was pregnant or not.
Mala, a native of Vijay Nagar area of Ghaziabad, had met Shivam, a salesman in DLF mall, through Facebook and both of them decided to tie the knots in November last year. Their family also supported their decision and got them married with proper rituals and amid celebrations.
