Marketing manager shot at by bike-borne assailants

Greater Noida: Bike-borne assailants shot at a marketing manager of a real-estate company in Surajpur area Greater Noida on Tuesday afternoon. Cops said that the victim has received two bullet injuries and has been admitted to hospital for treatment.

According to police, the victim has been identified as Rajiv Verma, native of Burari area in Delhi. Rajiv worked as marketing manager with Oasis Venetia Heights in Site-C industrial area in Surajpur since last 10 years.

An employee working with oasis Venetia told Millennium Post that the incident occurred around 12 pm when the victim had reached his office. Soon after he stepped out of his car, two bike-borne assailants stopped near him and opened indiscriminate firing on him.

"The accused were wearing helmet and they shot around four bullets on him. Hearing to the sound of gunshots, we rushed out to the victim and immediately took him to the nearby Kailash Hospital in Greater Noida," he said.

A senior doctor at Kailash hospital said that the victim received two bullet wounds in the neck and back. "Two bullet wounds in the neck and back of the victim were found and his condition is critical. The bullets have stuck inside his body and he has been referred to Kailash hospital in Noida for higher treatment," the doctor said.

Meanwhile, Senior Superintendent of Police, Gautam Buddh Nagar, Vaibhav Krishna said that the CCTV cameras installed in the office were not functioning.

"Prima Facie, the victim was shot four times. Four teams have been formed to investigate the case. We are trying to trace the accused persons and are expecting a breakthrough soon," said Krishna. Police officials said that that the family of the victim have denied on any personal enmity and have no suspects,

"We have received no complaints from the victim family, the matter is being probed from all possible angles, FIR will be filed once a complaint is filed," said Muneesh Chauhan, SHO, Surajpur.
