Marijuana worth Rs 2 crore seized

New Delhi: Crime Branch of Delhi Police on Friday said that they had recovered a total of 1,020 kilograms of marijuana worth Rs two crore from Aali village red light on Mathura road. The law enforcement arrested three persons who had hidden the banned contraband in a special cavity made in the truck.

Police identified the accused as Manoj Kumar (42), Narender Shah (40) and Sayyad Alam (38). The interstate gang was involved in supplying of 'marijuana' from Orissa and Andhra Pradesh to Delhi and NCR.

Deputy Commissioner of Police (crime) Dr G Ramgopal Naik said that to earn quick money, Kumar started to work with criminals and indulged in supplying "marijuana" in Delhi and NCR. He is the person who went to border areas in Andhra Pradesh and Orissa in the truck on the directions of one Chhotu and Munna to procure marijuana in the recovered truck.
