A young man from Manipur drowned on Monday in a water body while on a morning walk with his friends at a sprawling park here, police said.
Horthan, 22, and his two flat-mates, all from Manipur, had gone to the Deer Park in Hauz Khas village around 6 a.m. when he jumped into the pond after taking off his shirt, Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police Chinmoy Biswal said.
"His friends said they alerted the locals and police after he failed to come out," Biswal added. Horthan had arrived in Delhi on July 27 in search of job.
Fire brigade personnel and divers took out his body after an hour, he said.
