Man who strangled woman to death in Jahangirpuri nabbed in UP

Two days after a 20-year-old woman was found dead inside her residence in North West Delhi's Jahangirpuri area, police arrested her tenant's brother Dabloo (23) from Jalalabad in Uttar Pradesh.
The woman's family had earlier suspected the tenant Raju. However, after a detailed questioning with the residents of the area, Dabloo's role in the murder came to the fore. He had already fled Delhi when the police tried to apprehend him.

During his questioning, Dabloo told police that he had tried to establish sexual relations with the woman, but when she resisted he strangulated her to death fearing that the failed assault bid would come to light.

The incident was reported on Monday when the woman's husband found his wife's body in their rented accommodation in C-Block, Jahangirpuri. She had external injuries and strangulation marks on her body.

The police later picked up her husband Rajkumar for questioning, but gave him a clean chit after they found that he had no role to play in his wife's murder.

The family members of the deceased have also claimed that they do not suspect Rajkumar, claiming that the couple never had any fights. They had reportedly told the police that the tenant Raju may be involved as he would constantly fight with the woman.

"We had questioned the tenant Raju and found that his brother Dabloo had moved in with him around three-four days ago. Raju also informed us that his brother had left the house. We later deputed two teams to trace his whereabouts and found him at a location in Jalalabad, UP and arrested him," said a senior police official privy to the investigation.

When Dabloo was questioned, he had informed the police that he had reached Delhi four days ago and was staying at his brother's place.

He had noticed that Rinku would be alone in her house during the afternoon hours and decided to have sexual relations with her.

When he tried to force himself on her and she fought back, he decided to eliminate her to cover up the incident.
