New Delhi: With the time the modus operandi of the illicit liquor has also changed. Now, home delivery is the latest one as Sangam Vihar police have arrested a person who used to sell illicit liquor to the home or shops from where he gets the call from persons.
Police claimed that the accused had also distributed his phone number through messages and WhatsApp and told people that whoever wants liquor can contact him.
According to police, the accused Hariom was arrested and police recovered several cartoons of liquors from his scooty. Police claimed that during the investigation, they found that the accused had developed the modus operandi four months ago. "He has distributed his phone number in the area and after which he used to get the phone call from the people and through his scooty or bicycle the accused used to deliver the liquor to the place from where the person (buyer) had called," said a police official.
A team of Sangam Vihar police station SHO Upendra Singh with his team including sub-inspector Jitendra Malik had started keeping a tab on the sale of illicit liquor in Sangam Vihar.
"Some persons used to hide illicit liquor in their home and then sold it due to police strictness all such illegal activity was over," said a police official. Police sources claimed that the liquor shops were far away from Sangam Vihar and the accused involved in illicit trade used to brought liquor from neighboring state and then sold it in Delhi.''They used to sell the illegal liquor at less price comparing to the city from which they used to earn some margins," said a police official.
Police claimed that the Hariom had also hired few persons who were helping in his illegal delivery business of liquor. Police claimed that earlier the accused used to sold illegal liquor from his home but after police heightened their vigil it was tough for them to continue such crime so he developed this kind of nefarious design of
liquor trade.
