Man surrenders after killing sister-in-law

NEW DELHI: In a bizarre incident, a man in Rohini called up Delhi Police to confess that he had murdered his sister-in-law and chopped her body into several parts.
Soon after the call, police teams rushed to the spot in Rohini's Vijay Vihar and recovered the body. The accused, identified as Ram Shankar, was arrested on Saturday.
Police said that the victim, 31-year old Kalawati, wife of Fuggi Lal, had been reported missing since Friday night.
After requests from her family, a missing report was filed at Vijay Vihar police station.
A few hours later, Ram Shankar called the police and told them that he had Kalawati, his brother's wife, as he suspected her of having an extramarital affair. He later surrendered at the police station.
The woman was first murdered and later the accused chopped off her head and wrists.
"We have recovered the decapitated body of the woman, who hands were missing from below the wrist. The accused has been arrested under Section 302 of IPC. We are investigating the matter further, to determine if there is any other angle in the case. The body has been sent for post-mortem," said DCP, Rohini, Rishi Pal Singh.
