Man stabs wife over 25 times in Gurugram, held

Gurugram: Furious over alleged affair, a husband brutally murdered his wife by stabbing her 25 times in Gurugram.
The deceased has been identified as 28-year-old Gunjan while her murderer has been ascertained as 31-year-old Chandan. Both hailed from Bihar and had come to the city to earn their livelihood.
The couple was residing in Kadipur village of the city where they were living as tenants for over a year. While Chandan worked as a vegetable vendor, Gunjan worked as a domestic help. They got married in 2013.
According to the police, there were constant fights between the husband and wife.
However, in the past few months, it accelarated as Chandan felt that he was being cheated. In a fit of rage, he killed his wife by stabbing her repeatedly and after committing the gruesome incident, he fled from the spot.
The case was registered in Sector-10A police station by the landowner on September 14, after he saw Gunjan lying dead in a pool of blood. Soon, police formed a team and apprehended Chandan on Friday. He has been charged under Section 302 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).
"Based on our interrogation he has admitted his crime. He also confessed that he stabbed his wife 25 times. He stabbed at least 10 times on victim's back, three times on her chest and also on her right hip. We have kept the body in the mortuary and waiting for the deceased's family from Bihar to recover it," said police official Jai Prakash.
Ironically, Gunjan too had a criminal past and had served a jail sentence in Delhi in two separate cases for the abduction and murder of minor children.
