Man stabbed to death near Rani Jhansi Road
New Delhi: A 30-year-old man was stabbed to death near Rani Jhansi Road on Saturday night by an unidentified assailant.
Initial investigation by Delhi Police revealed that the victim was murdered out of personal enimity as all valuables were found intact. The victim was stabbed at around 9:40 pm, not more than 400 metres from his home in the Sadar Bazar area.
After receiving reports of the incident in the area, police arrived at the spot and immediately took him to a nearby hospital, where he was declared dead.
Police said that they are reviewing the CCTV footage in the area to identify the assailant.
They also added that they are talking to friends and family of the deceased in an attempt to make sense of the crime.
Sources involved in the investigation also said that they have not yet ruled out the possibility of the crime being related to a love affair gone bad.
As the mortuary is in the process of performing the post- mortem to determine the cause of death.
A case of murder has been registered and further investigations are on, according to the DBG Road police station.
They also added that they are in the middle of interrogating a few suspects in the case. The victim is survived by an elderly mother, one brother, and one sister. He was a resident of Sadar Bazar area.
