Man stabbed to death inside Ambedkar Nagar Police Station

New Delhi: A 28-year-old man was killed after he was stabbed to death inside Ambedkar Nagar Police Station in south east Delhi. Police claimed that the accused who was involved in the incident was arrested on the spot and administrative action has been taken against three police men, including the Station House Officer (SHO) of the same police station.
The deceased, identified as Anil, lived with his family in Dakshinpuri and worked as a driver whereas the accused is the neighbour identified as Vishal who works as a private peon. Police claimed that the accused took a file poker which was inside the investigation officer's (IO) room and attacked the victim.
Deputy Commissioner of Police (south east) Romil Baaniya stated that on 12:55 am on Tuesday, a PCR call was received regarding a quarrel in B-block area of Dakshinpuri. Sub Inspector (SI) Bhram Prakash reached the spot and found that there was an altercation between the victim and the accused and were brought to police station where they once again broke into a quarrel. According to police, both the accused were kept at IO room under the vigil of constable Ashok who went outside the room for some work and during this period Vishal attacked him. After hearing the noise, police personnel reached the spot and intervened. Anil was declared brought dead by the hospital. A case was registered under section 302 (murder) of IPC and Vishal was held.
According to Anil's family, the quarrel started when the deceased after celebrating her daughter's birthday went outside his house to see off her in-laws when the accused who was under the influence of alcohol abused him.
"My husband told him that you are younger to me show some respect to elder afterwhich he brought an iron rod from his house and attacked him," said Lovely, Anil's wife. The family members claimed that there was a police negligence as even after the quarrel both the persons should have been kept in separate rooms.
Seeing lapses in the police investigation, Baaniya stated that SHO Ambedkar Nagar has been directed to report to district lines whereas SI Bhram Prakash and CT Ashok has been placed under suspension and directed to report district lines.
In a matter of minutes, accused attacked victim
New Delhi: In just a couple of minutes, Vishal killed Anil with a file poker in Ambedkar Nagar Police Station when Constable Ashok, who was keeping a vigil on both inside the Investigation Officer (IO) room, went to meet duty officer.
Police sources told Millennium Post that the crime took place when the men were inside the investigation officer's room on the first floor. At around 2:45 am on Tuesday, Ashok went outside the room to meet duty officer, leaving both of them alone, which resulted in the death.
"Within two to three minutes after Ashok left, the incident happened. The accused attacked Anil around six times. Three injury wound was found in the neck and other three was on his abdomen, chest and back. When Ashok tried to intervene, he was also attacked," said the police source.
Sources further claimed that Sub-Inspector Bhram Prakash was the person who brought both the men to the police station and instead of keeping them in an interrogation room, they were kept at IO room and then left the police station as he had to attend another PCR call.
According to a senior police official at the time of incident, SHO Rakesh Kumar was on night patrolling when he came to know about the incident he rushed to the police station and then informed ACP who informed the senior police official of the districts.Seeing the gravity of the case, all the DCP's reached the police station and met the victim's family.
"Administrative action is been taken against three police men," said DCP Romil Baaniya. Public grievance and vigilance cell of South East district is conducting inquiry and in the next 48 hours, they will present their report.
Police have so far not found any criminal record of the accused whereas family of the victim stated that the accused is involved in criminal activities.
Daughter went unconscious after father's murder news
New Delhi: Anil was killed inside a police station on Tuesday but before the incident, he had just celebrated his daughter's birthday on Monday with zeal. The 12-year-old birthday girl Angel who was very happy before the incident went unconscious soon hearing her father's death.
Talking to Millennium Post, his family members stated that the deceased had three children and on Monday, he was celebrating her elder daughter's birthday in which he had gifted her clothes and clicked photographs with his family. After taking the photo, Anil said now he has a joint photograph of his whole family," said Anil's father-in-law. Another relative of the deceased, Micheal stated that Anil worked hard for his kids and was thinking about taking a policy which would be secured future of his children but his dream was crushed.
