Man shot dead in Gurugram

Gurugram: Brazen criminal incidents of people being shot dead in the streets of the city was again witnessed in Gurugram after three men shot dead a man in IMT Manesar.

The incident occurred at around 9.00 pm. After the incident, the three were able to flee from the spot.

The deceased who has been identified as Sumer is a village accountant (numberdar). According to law enforcement officials, Sumer had come to IMT Manesar for some work when certain unidentified criminals began to fire gunshots at him. The bullets pierced through his body and he died on the spot as per sources. The police have registered the case and have begun their investigations.

Even though the main cause of the shooting is yet to be ascertained, sources in the police claimed that they are exploring all angles that may have resulted in the crime.

On their part, the police have retrieved the CCTV images to get the lead. The incident comes just months after a Tehsiladar in Haryana government was shot dead after he had gone to measure the encroached land in Manesar.

Subsequently, the gangster who was accused in the cold blooded murder of the public official was shot dead in an encounter with Gurugram police.

The incident of the shootout in the busy streets of Gurugram is not a new phenomenon. In a worrying trend, the brazen incidents are not only reported from the outskirts of the city but even in densely populated areas of MG road, Sohna road, Jharsa road, and Sector-9 A.
