Man murders woman relative

NEW DELHI: Suspicion of losing his job because of backbiting of his two relatives forced a man to murder a woman (23) in southeast Delhi's Hazrat Nizamuddin area on Wednesday. However, the accused Rati Ram told police that he attacked Sita, her husband Mangal (25), as he was angry after he got an electric shock from a wire dangling from the gate of their house. The accused Rati Ram is Mangal's cousin. All three worked as contract labourers with the PWD.

As per Mangal's statement, Ram was sacked by his boss two days ago. The accused suspected that he was sacked because Mangal and Sita complained to his boss about him, a police officer said. To take revenge, Ram beat the couple with a stick. Sita was seriously injured, and when rushed to AIIMS hospital, she was declared brought dead.
