Man murdered in his Hauz Khas shop

New Delhi: A 50-year-old man was murdered in south Delhi's posh area Hauz Khas on Thursday as he was attacked on his head with a blunt object and his body was inside his shop.
Police claimed that the attackers might be known to the deceased as there was no cash missing.
According to police, it was around 11.15 pm on Thursday when Shivam, son of deceased Sudhir Gupta, went to their shop which was situated in F8 Gautam Nagar of south Delhi area and saw his father was lying unconscious in a pool of blood.
After seeing the horrific condition of his father, he alerted everyone and also PCR call was made whereas the victim was rushed to the hospital.
Police claimed that they got the PCR call around 11.40 pm on Thursday after which a team reached the spot and started their investigation.
Meanwhile, the victim was shifted to AIIMS Trauma Centre where doctor declared him brought dead.
Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police (South) Chinmoy Biswal stated that after inspecting the scene at the spot, they have found that the entry of the assailant was friendly.
"We have found that no cash or valuable is found missing from the shop. We also found that a huge amount of cash was found intact in the store cash," said Biswal. The accused had attacked severely on his head with a blunt object possibly an iron rod.
Police said that they were probing the case from all possible angles including the role of an insider in the case.
Police have questioned several people in this regard to get a further clue in the incident.
A case under section 302 (Punishment for murder) of Indian Penal Code has been registered at Hauz Khas police station. Cops were waiting for the post-mortem report.
