Man lynched for trying to rob house in Daulatpur

NEW DELHI: A 28-year-old was on Wednesday beaten to death by locals, after he allegedly tried to commit robbery inside a house in Shahbad Dairy.

Police said that they are in the process of identifying the attackers. The deceased, identified as Sandeep alias Tunda, was declared brought dead by doctors at BR Ambedkar hospital, after the assault was reported to police.

Police said Sandeep had allegedly tried to break into a house in Daulatpur village to commit robbery, along with three others, who were also beaten up.

However, residents of the building were alerted to their movement and soon cornered them at the terrace. "Around 10-15 people gathered at the terrace and beat the accused up, at which point of time he was conscious," police said.
