Man kills self reportedly over in-laws' harassment

New Delhi: A 34-year-old man allegedly committed suicide by hanging himself from a ceiling fan at his residence in outer Delhi's Paschim Vihar, police said on Tuesday.

Cops added that a suicide note was recovered during investigation in which Gaurav Goyal, who died on October 31, accused his in-laws of harassment. Police are examining a video Goyal had recorded and sent to his family before his death.

Police claimed that after they received the information, inquest proceedings were initiated and are underway. The deceased captured the entire incident on his phone's camera .

In the suicide note, the deceased claimed that he was 'tortured' by the parents and brothers of his wife, who insulted him time to time.

He also wrote how he had tried to reconcile with his wife and went to her parents' house where she had been living for the last few months, but the wife refused to return.
