Man involved in murder-cum-robbery in Lajpat Nagar held from Eastern UP

NEW DELHI: A 23-year-old man has been arrested by Crime Branch of Delhi Police.
According to Delhi Police sources, the accused was involved in the theft of cash and valuables worth Rs one crore from a house in Lajpat Nagar, wherein he and his associates also murdered a lady.
According to police, the accused was identified as Arvind Paswan.
The Inter-State Cell of Crime Branch, led by ACP Sanjay Sehrawat, arrested the accused from village Baghaiya in Eastern Uttar Pradesh near Nepal border.
On July 11, Paswan – along with his associates Beni Prasad Yadav, Roshan, Sonu Paswan and Shiv Narayan – had committed robbery of cash and jewellery worth more than Rs one crore from a house in National Park area in South Delhi's Lajpat Nagar-IV.
During the incident, when the owner of the house resisted to the robbery, they brutally murdered her.
Joint Commissioner of Police (Crime), Alok Kumar stated that accused persons planted Roshan to work as domestic help in the house of the victim and conspired to commit the dacoity.
The gang members Roshan, Sonu Paswan and Shiv Narayan were arrested in the present case and since the registration of FIR.
Another accused Arvind Paswan and Beni Prasad was evading their arrest and had absconded. Both the absconding accused persons were declared proclaimed offender by the Saket Court. A reward of Rs 50,000 was declared against both the absconding accused persons by the Delhi Police. After the incident, the accused was hiding in the house of his relative at Gonda, Bahraich, Eastern UP, and Nepal.
