Man held in double murder case

Ghaziabad: Ghaziabad police have arrested a man who allegedly killed his cousin brother and his friend after an altercation broke out between them over exchange of money in Loni area of Ghaziabad. Cops said that the accused dumped the two bodies in a swift Dzire car.

According to police, the arrested accused has been identified as Azeem, a native of Meerut district.

As per police, On the evening of June 29, police received an information that a swift Dzire car was lying unattended at a railway track near diamond public school.

Police found bullet-ridden bodies of men on the front two seats and searched their pockets for identification. One of the deceased was identified as Danish, a native of Meerut.

"We immediately informed local police and reached to the family of the deceased. Danish's brother Aadil told police that there were three persons who left home together in the swift car and alleged Azeem to have killed the two. Police registered an FIR into the matter and arrested the accused on Monday," a senior police officer said.

Sanjay Pandey, Station House Officer (SHO), Loni said that accused Azeem shot dead his cousin brother Juned and his friend Danish after an altercation broke out between them over exchange of money.

"Upon interrogating the accused, he confessed to have committed the crime and told police that the trio had left Meerut to New Delhi to collect Rs 65, 000 from a persons in Seelampur area and while going back to Meerut they had drinks together."

"When Azeem asked Juned to lend him Rs 50, 000 for some time, he denied and started abusing Azeem. In a fit of anger he opened fire at Juned which hit his forehead."

"Meanwhile, Danish who was driving parked the car at road side and tried to run. Azeem followed him and shot him also and the bullet hit his head. He then dumped both the bodies in the car and left for Meerut where he tried to mislead the families by fake stories," said Pandey.
