Man held for killing wife in Manesar

GURUGRAM: Gurugram Police on Saturday arrested a man for murdering his wife in Manesar.
Angry over constant fights with his wife Neelam, the accused Manjeet on Friday stabbed his wife and later disfigured her face by crushing it with stone, so that she could not be recognised.
Manjeet, a resident of Lambi village in Manesar, then dumped her body in a nearby forest and filed a missing complaint with the police of his wife.
His attempt to fool cops, however, did not work, as he was soon caught after his interrogation resulted in him not providing suitable answers.
Police have filed a case under appropriate sections of the IPC and sent him to jail.
According to police sources, Neelam was repeatedly stabbed viciously and received severe wounds on her face and abdomen.
Police further said that Manjeet then crushed her face with a large stone, not just to make sure that face is disfigured, but that there remained no chances of her surviving.
"As of now, Manjeet seems to be the only culprit in the case. However, we are in the process of finding out if there were any other people who helped Manjeet in carrying out the heinous murder," said a senior police official from Gurugram Police.
The incident took place on a day when various crimes took place in the city.
Besides the brutal murder of Pradyuman Thakur – a Class II student of Ryan International School – within the school premises, one person identified as Ilyas was killed after eight rounds of bullets were fired at his SUV by unknown assailants.
In a separate incident on Friday, a violent scuffle took place between inmates and cops in Bhondsi jail.
