"We have got a kitchen knife and a stick from the spot and it seems the woman and the minor boy have been murdered using them. However, we are investigating the whole case with all possible angles," said a senior police officer.
Sources said that Vinod too had injuries in his thumb and toe. Vinod did leave a suicide note before committing suicide. The apparent reason for the suicide seems to be his depression. The cops are now verifying the handwriting of Vinod.
The two bodies were discovered by Vinod's eldest son Nitin who returned late in the night and slept at the ground floor. However, when he went to the first floor where his parents stayed, he was shocked to see both his mother and brother lying in a pool of blood and his father hanging from the celing fan. He immediately alerted the relatives and neighbours and cops were informed.
Soon, the Delhi police team from Nihal Vihar police station along with crime team and forensic experts reached the spot to pick up finger prints from the area.
The whole area was cordoned off and investigators took several hours to collect evidence from the spot.
According to cops, Vinod was earlier unemployed and financial crises might be one of the reason for this act of brutality.
However, the investigators are also probing what was the immediate provocation for this extreme step.
