Man duped of more than Rs 1.73 lakh

Gurugram: Another case of a person being duped of large sum through a fake call emerged as a formal complaint was filed at the Manesar police station after Yogendar Kumar from Baghnaki village stated that he was robbed of Rs 1.73 lakh.
Kumar highlighted that he received a fake call from a person who claimed to be a bank agent who later succeeded in extracting vital financial information.
Most of the criminals on the pretext of sale calls or service calls are successful in getting vital financial information which is then exploited. According to the police, various fake call centres and gangs are involved in this criminal act. In this year, the cyber crime branch busted a fake call centre and that was operating in Delhi.
