NEW DELHI: Delhi Police is looking for a man deserted his one month old baby after handing it over to a woman in Mohalla Clinic in Adarsh Nagar on Thursday.
The primary concern of the police was to look after the infant's health and therefore got her admitted to the Babu Jagjivan Ram hospital nursery.
However, the man is still untraced.
The man who was standing in a queue with a girl child in his arms tricked a 40-year-old woman in the Mohalla Clinic near Azadpur flyover.
He asked her if she could hold the child for a moment as he was going to get some water for himself.
"The unsuspecting woman held the child but the man did not return even after an hour. When the man absconded , the husband of the woman made a PCR call and informed police about the incident," said a senior police officer.
Sensing the sensitivity of the case, the policemen soon formed teams to locate the accused.
The condition of the baby is said to be stable where a team of doctors is monitoring the health of the girl child.
