Man dies after being beaten up

New Delhi: Three persons suspected to be thieves were beaten up by the several persons in Uttam Nagar on Saturday late night. Police claimed that one of them was declared brought dead in the hospital, whereas they have arrested one person in this regard.

Police claimed that the deceased was identified as Avinash.

The incident came to the light when the police team reached the spot and found three men were caught by the residents in Uttam Nagar area and were mercilessly beaten up.

The investigation further revealed that they were accused of committing some theft when one person saw them and alerted residents while shouting. Hearing the noise, residents came out from the house and gave no chance to three persons to escape and started beating them.

Meanwhile, a PCR call was received and the police team reached the spot and the took all three of them to the hospital where one of them declared brought dead.

"The investigation is still on in the case from all angles," said police officer.

Police claimed that after identifying the attacker they have arrested one accused in this regard and have identified other attackers.

"The investigation is on to know that how many persons were involved in the crime," said police officer.

They further added that the past record of three men also been checked in order to know whether they had any criminal record. A case has been registered in Uttam Nagar police station under appropriate IPC sections.
