Man commits suicide after killing wife, 3 kids in Gzb

Ghaziabad: Five members of a family including three minor girls and their parents were found dead inside their house in New Shatabdipuram Masuri area of Ghaziabad on Friday morning.

Police have recovered a suicide note written by the 37-year-old man in which he confessed to have killed his family and then committed suicide under mental stress. Cops said that the man was jobless and a drug addict.

According to police, the deceased were identified as Pradeep, his wife Sangeeta (32), who worked as a nurse at National Drug Dependency Treatment Centre (NDDTC) at AIIMS, their three daughters Mansavi (8), Tejasvi (5) and Ojasvi (3). The incident came to light on early Friday morning around 5 am when Pradeep's sister Reena heared loud cries of the three children from inside the room and immediately alerted her parents who were sleeping in the next room.

They kept on knocking the door but Pradeep didn't open. When Reena peeped inside the room she saw the bodies lying on bed and conveyed the information to police around 6 am.

Sudhir Kumar Singh, Senior Superintendent of Police, Ghaziabad, said that when police broke open the door, they found bodies of Pradeep and three children lying on the bed while Sangeeta was found lying on the floor.

"Upon reaching the spot, police found Pradeep and three children dead while a black tape was wrapped around their mouth and head. Sangeeta was lying on the floor and was alive. Police rushed her to a nearby hospital but she also succumbed to injuries," said Singh.

The officer further said that police have recovered a six page suicide note from the spot in which the accused mentioned reason for which he committed the crime.

"Police recovered a suicide note written by the accused in which he mentioned to have killed his wife by hitting her head with a hammer and administering poison to his three daughters. He also committed suicide by consuming the same poison and wrapped black tape in order to make sure that the poison doesn't get spilled out. He also mentioned that he suspect his wife to have an illicit relationship with some other man. Meanwhile the bodies of deceased persons have been sent for the post mortem while the actual reason behind the death can only be ascertained after the autopsy reports are out," added Singh.
