Man charred to death as car veers off road in Gurugram

Gurugram: Over-speeding and reckless driving led to another tragic accident, after a man was charred to death as his car fell off the road near the Kundli-Manesar-Palwal Expressway and burst into flames at Gurugram's Farrukhnagar on Thursday afternoon.

According to the law enforcement officials, the Honda City car was travelling at a very high speed, when it suddenly rammed into a barricade, tumbled off the road and caught fire.

The impact of the crash was so severe that within minutes, the car went into flames and there was no chance that passersby could rescue the man stuck inside.

In a similar incident in August, a woman engineer working in Google and her male friend working as a marketing executive in Royal Enfield were killed after the motorcycle they were on crashed into a divider at the Genpact Chowk on Golf Course road. The deceased had been identified as Kevin Martin and Anvita Kant.

At the time of the crash, the bike was being driven at a speed of 150 km per hour.

More than technical faults, lives are lost in road mishaps in Gurugram due to carelessness of the drivers. According to the senior official from Gurugram Traffic Police, more than 60 per cent of the deadly accidents are caused to over-speeding.
