Man arrested for pushing his wife to death from fourth floor

Ghaziabad: Ghaziabad police have arrested a 30-year-old man from Khora area for allegedly killing his wife after pushing her from fourth floor of a building. Cops said that a heated argument broke out between the couple while cooking food and the man dragged her to the balcony of their house from where he

pushed her.

According to police, the alleged incident took place on the night of June 16. The accused had been identified as Arvind, a native of Lakhimpur Khiri District and worked as labourer at construction sites.

Arvind was married to Reena (27) around five years ago and the couple also had two kids. They used to live at a rented house in Khora area but their relationship was never sound because of Arvind's drinking habits. Very often they used to quarrel over pity issues and on June 16 around 9 pm, a heated argument broke out between them and in a fit of anger, Arvind dragged his wife to the balcony of their house and pushed him from the fourth floor of building.

Reena was lying on the road in a pool of blood when she was rushed to a nearby hospital where she succumbed to injuries on Wednesday. Based on the complaint given by victim's family, police lodged an FIR against her husband. Police officials confirmed that Arvind was in an inebriated state at the time of incident.

"The accused was absconding after the incident and was arrested from Itvar Pushta on Thursday. He confessed to have committed the crime," said Satendra Prakash Singh, Station House Officer of Khora police station.
