Man arrested for murder after nine yrs
New Delhi: A 28-year-old man was arrested after nine years for killing a person and burning his body in love triangle in Ghaziabad area. Police said the incident happened in the year 2010 since then the accused was absconding. Police identified the accused as Deepu (28) who was arrested with his associate Sumit Jangda (23).
On April 8, both accused were arrested from near Budh Vihar. Additional Commissioner of Police (Crime) Rajiv Ranjan said that the reason behind the murder was a love triangle. Deepu loved a local girl. But she started going around with another person named Dalip Kumar.
"To take revenge, the accused person had kidnapped and killed Dalip, thereafter dumped and burnt his dead body in Ghaziabad. Deepu had managed to evade arrest up till now," said Additional CP.
He said that Deepu is also an absent Bad Character of Rajpark police station (Sultanpuri) and was previously found involved in more than 25 criminal cases including murder, theft and burglary of Outer and West Districts. Sumit was also found previously involved in 10 criminal cases including robbery and snatching of Ranhola and Nangloi police stations.
During interrogation, it was found that on April 6, Sumit and Deepu along with their third accomplice Monu had also burgled a godown in Nihal Vihar.
