Maliwal's hunger strike enters Day 7, her health condition deteriorates

NEW DELHI: Sitting on a wheelchair the DCW chief Swati Maliwal met the leaders and the audience gathered on the Day 7 of her hunger strike demanding a stringent law against the child rape accused after the brutal rape in Kathua of an eight-year-old child.
"It is really shameful that when an entire country is boiling and women of our country are feeling unsafe, PM is giving one more statement. Daily PM gives one statement or one speech but he has failed to understand the "Man Ki Baat" of our countrymen. Today Country needs action not speeches or statements from Prime Minister," said Maliwal.
She said that in my tenure as DCW chief I went to everybody courts, politicians, PM but nothing happened. I begged to PM to meet one-year-old victim because I believed that PM isn't so cruel that he will be able to ignore the pain of one year old child even after meeting her.
CPI leader and Rajya Sabha MP D Raja came to meet Swati Maliwal to support her demands. Raja promised Maliwal that he will raise the issue in the Parliament in the coming monsoon session.
