Make greater use of technology for welfare of public: LG to police

NEW DELHI: Lieutenant-Governor Anil Baijal on Friday presided over a law and order meeting to review the plan for implementation of vision of Delhi Police for 2027.
The meeting was attended by Pr. Secretary (Home),Commissioner of Police, Delhi, Spl. CPs and Jt. CPs of Delhi Police.
" In meeting, Lieutenant- Governor was informed about the vision of Delhi Police for 2020 and 2027 and action plan for next 10 years," said a senior officer. L-G Baijal directed Delhi Police to enhance human resource capability to enable greater use of technology effectively and efficiently for welfare of public.
The scenario 2020 envisages development of smart policing , Integration of Technology (IoT), Artificial Intelligence (AI), 3D printing, block chain & crypto currencies, M, self-learning systems, aggregators, Brick and Clicks, Connectivity and Convergence.
Baijal was also informed about the action plan of Delhi Police for next three years such as use of data analytics based predictive policing; connected multi-jurisdictional records; return of Human intelligence as the Central Piece; Centralized Database for remote Suspect Verification; single platform for seamless delivery of services.
He was further informed about the action plan prepared by Delhi Police such as Multi Stakeholder Engagement; open source intelligence solution; enterprise information integration solution;
Baijal emphasised that the action plan for various proposals needs to be prioritized and taken up in phased manner.
He further desired that personnel at all levels need to be familiarised with the technological upgradation. He further desired that the training centre should also be upgraded in consultation with various knowledge partners.
