Mahagun society attack case: 13 arrested
Following a violent mob of domestic workers protested and pelted stones on a residential society, Mahagun Moderne in Noida's Sector 78, the police on Thursday arrested 13 people who were found accused of attacking the society and creating a life threat to the residents.
Police also detained 40 more people, suspecting them to have been involved in the same but later released them.
"The arresting has been made based on the complaint given by the employer of the maid, Harshita Sethi. An FIR has been registered in the respect," said a senior police official.
Meanwhile, the senior police officials from Gautam Buddh Nagar police have denied of any assault and hostage being done to the maid, Zohra.
"Prima Facie investigation suggests that Zohra was not being held captive at the apartment by her employer. However, she was feeling sick at that night and decided not to go home and rest in the house of her other employer," said Love Kumar, senior superintendent of police, Gautam Buddh Nagar.
"The lady who let Zohra rest in her house has also confirmed this to us. The FIR thus registered seems to have been made on a fake complaint," added Kumar.
However, the investigations are still on.
