Lover turned 'snatcher' to marry girlfriend

NEW DELHI: Marriage with his girlfriend was his dream but the path he chose to arrange money for the marriage landed the 22-year-old behind bars. The accused, Shubham alias Machchhi, was in love with a girl and the only constraint in his marriage was money so he decided to commit snatching to arrange for enough money.

The police said that the accused, a resident of Sagarpur in Delhi, was a notorious snatcher of the area. "He had 25 cases of snatching registered against him while his age is just 22. He used to spend a lot on his girlfriends and wanted to marry one but he did not have enough money. This need of money drove him to crime," said DCP Dwarka Anto Alphonse.
