Live up to ideals of the Constitution: LG to citizens

NEW DELHI: On the eve of Independence Day, Lieutenant Governor Anil Baijal greeted the citizens of Delhi and asked them to live up to the ideals of the Constitution of India, the supreme document.
The LG also appealed to the people maintain cleanliness and hygiene in their surroundings and dispose garbage only at approved sites, instead of at roadsides and other unauthorised places.
Baijal on Monday chaired a review meeting of the three Municipal Corporations on various issues, which was attended by the Chief Secretary, Principal Secretary (Urban Development), Principal Commissioner of DDA , CEO of DUSIB and the three Commissioners of the MCDs.
Baijal said the goal of "clean and green Delhi" cannot be achieved without people's cooperation and directed the municipal Commissioners to put up display boards on all roads giving contact details of officers responsible for their maintenance.
He also stressed on making Delhi a zero-landfill site city and directed the municipal commissioners to submit an action plan for the same.
The LG also stressed on a feedback mechanism, wherein the public could send pictures of such places to officers.
